Slalom specializes in developing sound-absorbing solutions that combine high acoustic performance, design, sustainability and aesthetics. Designed primarily for the contract and hospitality sectors, Slalom’s collections are suitable for a wide range of settings—from workplaces and cultural or public spaces to residential environments. The company’s approach goes beyond merely developing sound-absorbing products; it promotes the integration of acoustics into architectural design, offering consultancy and support to professionals to create acoustically effective spaces. Slalom's products are crafted from sound-absorbing materials derived from regenerated plastic—transformed into PET felt—and bio-based materials such as wool, wood and natural fibres. Each solution stems from in-depth research into the sustainability of materials and production processes, aligning with Agenda 2030 principles and ESG standards. This ranges from selecting raw materials that are 100% traceable and contain between 76% and 96% post-consumer plastic, to designing products built for durability, recyclability and reuse. Slalom's products hold leading certifications regarding fire resistance, sustainability, indoor air quality and environmental well-being, and they contribute to achieving major sustainable building certifications including LEED, WELL, BREEAM and Fitwel. "Acoustethics" (Acoustics + Aesthetics + Ethics) is the term coined by Slalom to encapsulate its design philosophy: an approach that integrates acoustics, aesthetics and ethics, to develop high-performance solutions designed to enhance human well-being and foster more conscious design. Today, the company operates internationally, collaborating with leading architectural firms and generating a significant portion of its revenue in foreign markets.
